My name is Loren Benoit. I'm a photographer in Wenatchee, Washington. Previously, I worked as a photojournalist at The Coeur d’Alene Press in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
I stand to document the stories of life through the medium of photography and multimedia. I constantly search with my eyes and heart for moments filled with action and emotion, and I firmly believe that photojournalism helps us connect to one another. People are valuable, and so are their stories. My interest in photography first began in middle school when I traveled to Mt. Rainier with my family. I was blown away by the sounds of birds chirping, the smell of the wildflowers and how vast Mt. Rainier was in front of me. I was awe struck. After that I began photographing nature, but mostly moments people share with one another.
Some of my favorite assignments I covered in Kootenai County were Ironman, high school sports, The Coeur d'Alene Resort Holiday Lights Show, human interest features, and slice of life moments found in the community. Currently, I photograph news, sports, events, and human interest features for The Wenatchee World, as well as businesses and features for The Foothills Magazine.
When I am not behind the camera, I enjoy hiking, playing baseball/softball, snowboarding, reading, traveling, listening to music, and going for drives.
