The competition comprised of onstage interviews, a health and fitness dance routine and fitness modeling, a talent/HERStory, and evening gown all judged by Cori Bautista, Mary Rathbone, Dr. Faimous Harrison, Deanna Walter, and Karla Mullins. The competition is a preliminary for Miss Washington that takes place in July. The executive director of the Miss East Cascades Scholarship Organization, Deloma Sherwood, has been the ladies director since 2013 and mentioned that the organization strives to encourage community service, health, outreach, leadership, and educate the next generation “To prepare great women for the world, and to prepare the world for great women,” as the moto to Miss America.
